Q.  How quickly will I see results?

A.  The device starts working as soon as it is installed and plugged in. On residential systems or domestic lines in commercial systems, you will see a softening of the scale around shower heads within a day with full flow restored within a week.  For a water valve frozen by scale, it may take several weeks for the scale to be removed; then the valve will again be operational. Scale around toilet tanks and bowls takes several weeks to dissolve.  In commercial closed loop systems, the equipment starts working as soon as water circulates through piping and equipment.

Q.  What happens to the scale, where does it go?

A.  Scale is dissolved and is flushed through the system into the sewer.  Minerals that form scale are a normal part of your drinking water.

Q.  Do I need to change anything when the system is installed on my cooling tower and chiller?

A.  Yes, you need to stop adding chemicals immediately.  No other changes are required.  We do advise you to be sure the rest of the equipment is working as designed.  This includes conductivity meters and blow down devices.

Q.   What happens if the light goes out?

A.   Check the power to the outlet to be sure the circuit breaker is not tripped, and plug the unit into a different outlet.  If this does not solve the problem, the unit is defective and the power supply box should be replaced.  Disconnect the signal wire and replace the power supply box. Customer cannot repair a defective unit; unit must be returned to manufacturer for repair or replacement.

Q.  How long with the unit last?

A.  In a typical installation, you can expect the unit to last 10 years before effectiveness declines.

Q.  How much does the device cost to operate?

A.  Electric power costs are in the range of $7-11 per year per unit.

Q.  Are there any ongoing maintenance activities once the product is installed?

A.  Yes, the power light should be checked periodically to be sure the system is working.  Loose scale should be removed from sumps or filters.  Cooling towers should continue normal blow-down.
